Premier League clubs are working hard to bolster their squads ahead of the new season with Arsenal and Manchester United among those pursuing big summer transfer deals
Manchester United are in a four-way battle to sign Southampton's Tyler Dibling. Transfer Talk has the latest news, gossip and rumors.
In London, the tension between rival clubs never lets up. Arsenal and Chelsea cross paths once again, this time with a specific interest that could hog the headlines in the summer transfer market.
As noted by The Times, Chelsea cannot register new players for next season’s Champions League squad unless they balance out the squad costs from “List A”, which is the last squad registered with UEFA for the second half of the Conference League campaign. The rule means any spending on new players must be balanced out by income from sales.
Arsenal have signed Christian Norgaard from Brentford, the two Premier League clubs said on Thursday as the North London club continues to strengthen the midfield following close-season departures.
Arsenal are moving forward in their pursuit of Noni Madueke, with discussions now progressing between the clubs. As reported by The Telegraph, Chelsea are holding out for offers exceeding £50 million for the 23-year-old winger, having initially signed him for £30 million from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023.
Nørgaard becomes the second midfield addition to the Arsenal squad this summer, following Martín Zubimendi in moving to the Emirates Stadium. Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has also joined from Chelsea and talks are ongoing over deals for both Blues winger Noni Madueke and Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres.
Martin Keown has told Chelsea that they will fail in their attempt to sign Ethan Nwaneri from Arsenal. Nwaneri, who became the Premier League’s youngest-ever player at 15 years and 181 days old with his first senior start for Arsenal in 2022, made 37 appearances in all competitions for Arteta’s side last season.
