Arizona Diamondbacks standout right-hander Corbin Burnes exited Sunday's game against the Washington Nationals in the fifth inning with right elbow discomfort and will undergo an MRI exam on Monday. Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo didn't attempt to mask his level of concern when he met with reporters after the 3-1 victory.

The Diamondbacks got a win they really needed, and got a strong performance out of their bullpen in that win was perhaps just as critical. They celebrated young right-hander Cristian Mena, who one day after being called up from Triple-A Reno earned his first career major victory with two scoreless innings of work.

Eugenio Suárez homered to cap Arizona’s three-run first inning in a 3-1 victory over the Washington Nationals 3-1 but the Diamondbacks lost starting pitcher Corbin Burnes to an injury.
