Bryce Harper needed a change. The Phillies superstar was hitting .237 through May 11. That wasn't good enough for a guy who is consistently one of the best hitters in baseball. So Harper made a change. He chopped off the long hair and went instead for a buzzcut.

Few, if any, would blame the Phillies for pursuing Alonso, himself a four-time All-Star and one of the league’s most potent home run hitters. Alonso signed a two-year, $54 million contract in February, and he can opt out following the season.

After officially retiring from Major League Baseball, one of Bryce Harper’s former teammates said the Philadelphia Phillies fan base may be tough — but to him, they were the best he had throughout a career that began in 2012 and ended in 2025.
