In one of the wildest NBA playoff games ever at Madison Square Garden, the Pacers, trailing by 16 points in the fourth quarter, rallied past the Knicks in a 138-135 overtime thriller in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals on Wednesday night.

Thomas Bryant’s Indiana Pacers used a miraculous late surge to force overtime to defeat OG Anunoby’s New York Knicks in the battle of former Hoosiers teammates.

Anunoby was one of multiple Knicks to miss a key free throw in the closing minute of regulation and he also committed a turnover in OT to negate the thunderous chants of “OG, OG” he had heard earlier in the fourth quarter from the MSG crowd.

The sudden silence among Knicks fans spoke volumes. As the Indiana Pacers celebrated Tyrese Haliburton’s stepback buzzer beater in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, a sellout Madison Square Garden hushed in disbelief.

The Indiana Pacers visit the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference finals with a 1-0 lead in the series. The teams meet for the fifth time this season.
